Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

This policy lists every cookie Mentor sets and what each one does. It is deliberately short, because Mentor deliberately uses very few cookies.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between visits or between pages — for example, a preference you selected.

2. Cookies we use

CookiePurposeDurationCategory
mm_subjectRemembers which subject (Maths, Science, English, or History) you last selected.1 yearStrictly necessary / functional
mm_year_groupRemembers which year group (7–10) you last selected.1 yearStrictly necessary / functional
Supabase authentication cookies (name prefixed sb-)Keeps you signed in once you sign in with Google, so a school administrator, teacher, or student doesn’t need to sign in again on every page. Only set once you sign in.Session-based, refreshed while you remain signed inStrictly necessary

Every cookie above is set directly by Mentor (or by Supabase acting on our behalf as part of the sign-in process) and is read only by us. None of these cookies are used to track you across other websites.

3. Cookies we do not use

Mentor does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising or marketing cookies, or any third-party tracking or social media pixel. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any new cookie is introduced.

4. Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies through their settings. Becausemm_subject and mm_year_group only store a preference, blocking them simply means the Service falls back to a default subject and year group. Blocking the Supabase authentication cookies will prevent sign-in from working for School Administrator, Teacher, and Student accounts, since the Service has no other way to keep you signed in.

5. Changes to this policy

If we add, remove, or change a cookie, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle the personal information described elsewhere on this site.
