Integers on Number Lines

Represent below-zero and downward situations with negative integers, then move left or right on a number line to find new integer positions.

Let's start

Positions and directions

A number line gives every integer a position. Zero is the reference point, positive integers sit to the right, and negative integers sit to the left. Once the direction is clear, a number-line question becomes a movement question.
