Comparing Literary Texts Across Contexts

Same skill, different texts

This unit's seven short stories are set in very different times, places and situations — industrial-era mill labour, wartime rationing, migration, a family dispute, two comic contemporary settings, and an athletic challenge. Comparing them reveals what is universal in human experience and what is shaped by specific circumstances.
